FAQ
Does Microblading Hurt?
There is some slight pain you will experience, it ranges depending on the person.
At Defined Lines Inc. there is no numbing on the first pass. The reason for this is the numbing can change the canvas and texture of the skin, we want the skin in its normal condition when creating the hairs strokes for the best results. When the service is being performed correctly and there is a proper three point stretch done, it keeps the pain minimal (I’ve had clients tell me they’ve had less pain with me and no numbing on the first pass, then with previous artists they’ve been to that have pre-numbed). Once we have completed the first pass, there will then be a liquid numbing agent applied before we do the second pass. This stuff is Magic! You will not feel a thing on the second pass. I do like to note that if you are a smoker or are on your menstrual cycle, the pain level could possibly be intensified. (*powder brows is done with pre-numbing)
Is There Any Down Time for microblading or powderbrows?
No. However, everyones skin is different. Someone who is very sensitive could possibly turn slightly red and swollen. This will diminish and return to normal within a few hours.
How Long Does Microblading/Powder Brows Last?
The lasting effects will be different for everyone, depending on multiple variables. These can include, if you do or don’t wear sunscreen, what skin type you have, what types of medications you’re on, how often you work out, your skin care routine, how often you’re in the sun. so for these reasons, no artist should ever guarantee an amount of time that the work will last. On average we like to say about 1-3 years for microblading and between 1-4 years for powder brows. Keep in mind we always suggest checking in yearly to see if any colour boost or correction is needed.
Is The Follow Up Appointment Included?
Yes. For microblading and powder brows there are 2 appointments included in the cost of the service. The first is when we are shaping your brows according to your face shape and structure, then doing the full service. The second appointment 4-6 weeks later is your “perfection touch-up” which allows me to fill in any areas where pigment may have faded or healed slightly patchy. When putting something foreign into the skin, the body’s natural response is to try to push it out. The amount of lost pigment during the first healing process depends on each clients body and how well they follow pre-care and aftercare instructions (this is very important to the healed outcome).
*please note that any extra touch up sessions are an extra charge, only 2 appointments are included in the cost of the service
